14th January 2003

Where to start? Well it is Tuesday. It is cold, but not as cold as it was last week when it was snowing and I wish I were home in bed instead of here at work. Which is the thought of the moment. Why am I so tired if I sleep so much? I’m going to leave that a rhetorical question.

There are now thirteen and a half working days left for me at First Property. I feel really sorry for the people that were being interviewed here yesterday. It seems Ez’s redundancy was a complete cock-up with him being offered his old job by his agency. Apparently the guy that was going to take over here had the good sense to stay well away. In my humble opinion of course.

Whilst I’m naming and shaming, I’m naming Direct Line today for their ludicrous £365 travel insurance quote for my upcoming American Adventure. Of the five companies I called up I went with Columbus Direct, who will cover me for epilepsy. And gave me the cheapest quote. A number of others refused to cover me for any price, so it’s like well what’s the point in offering me anything then! Which is a point, I can’t remember if I have received the certificate or not. That is going to bug me.

Did very little this weekend just gone. Sat in bed and watch Star Trek mainly. It seems to be my aim to watch all of the remaining unseen episodes I have as soon as possible. I’m sure it will end up driving me mad! However on Saturday evening mum, dad and I went to Colonel Jaspers in Barking. The food was great but they messed up dad’s steak (because he is fussy how he has his steak) which was bad enough, but the music they were playing was too naff and too loud for my preference, so we left without dessert.

The ‘oldies’ won the quiz on Sunday evening. That meant it wasn’t my team, but the oldies shared out things from the badie bag that they won, so a good time was had by all.

I played badminton last week and realized just how unfit I actually am. All this silly Christmas business meant that all the good work I had put in has been completely undone. This Wednesday we aren’t playing badminton either because we are playing bowling. Seems we aren’t able to reschedule one or the other so that I can try and get a bit more fit. It does irritate me. Everyone else has squash and wouldn’t dream of rescheduling that. I need some different friends!

So that I think will conclude this moaning entry as I am quite scared of what else I could find to complain about at the moment! Still all going well I’ll be with Erin in 4 weeks - yay!
