2006 - The first three months

The undisputed highlight of the first three months of 2006 must be traveling to Arizona to meet Justin and Christine.  I'm not really sure where the idea came from but around the start of February we had decided to go out and see them using the holiday fund we had set up to go to Disneyland Paris (I don't think we will ever make it there!).  We were actually in Arizona for a week but took about ten days off work to have the holiday and get there and back again.

We arrived Thursday evening and went for a burger and got home
Friday we went shopping in Wal Mart and at Casa Grande, we went for Mexican in the evening
Saturday we had a lazier day and went to the Tucson Botanical Gardens
Sunday we went to Phoenix just to go to the Hard Rock Cafe and really enjoyed it
Monday we spent the day at the Desert museum.  It was a very hot day, we saw lots of animals and plants off the desert and got some great views from mountains.
Tuesday we went to Los Angeles by plane.  We went to the Los Angeles Hard Rock Cafe and the Hollywood one as well.  We did tourist type things like seeing the Hollywood sign, going to the beach, driving around places like Santa Monica Boulevard and the San Fernando Valley.  All great fun left us very tired though.
Wednesday did some jeans shopping and ate out at a Chinese restaurant.
Thursday, bought a few nick nacks and flew home.

The whole holiday was great but went too quickly.  We'll have to go back and spend longer there next time.  This may not be just a dream.

Other than that Kat got herself a new job at Cadbury after looking around for quite a while.  I'm glad that she got a new job and one at a great company at that.  I know job hunting was getting Kat down, it is rather soul destroying and is one of the reasons I'm staying where I am at the moment.  I may move at some point I may not, we'll have to see how it goes.

Chris, Sherri and Ben came to visit in February, that was quite a lot of fun, we saw Big Mommas House 2 at the cinema, had dinner at Chiquittos (not the nicest dinner we've ever had admittedly)  and hung out round the Great Park and Birmingham city centre and the like.

I got shipped to Bristol one day in February for work.  Bristol looked like quite a nice place from what I saw of it, which wasn't much as it was raining and I didn't want to be home too late.  The visit itself was a bit pointless and nothing that couldn't be done over email and the phone in ten minutes, but it was something different.

We've just seen our thirteenth film of the year so we have been doing plenty of film watching too.

New Years was spent at my parents as last year was as well.  Had quite a nice time.

Been buying and watching loads of DVDs this year.  Bought a tumble drier and a Nintendo DS too.

So thats about it.  The holiday was the highlight and the second most memorable thing was how long February seemed to take to come and go so we could fly away.  Never known a February last so long!
