August 2004

August 2004 was a very busy month for Kat and I.  At the start of August my parents came to visit, which in itself is quite a feat as I can't remember the last time either of them were this far north.  They enjoyed their stay, we looked around the city centre, saw the Earth from the Air outdoor exhibition taking place by the city hall.  We then went to eat Chinese at a little place we know and had a few drinks.

A few days later it was Kats birthday and she got lots of nice presents including a bedside lamp from people at work of all things and some nice perfume from me.

A few more days pass and its my birthday, I got some money and promptly spent most of it at Amazon, although we did organize a nice day out in Birmingham culminating in a night at the Hard Rock Cafe which was great fun.

Some time later I spent the weekend in Nottingham on account of it being Del's stag weekend.  We went to Hooters and went go-karting and to Jongleurs.  I also managed to tick off another Hard Rock Cafe.  I'm really falling behind in my list of Hard Rock Cafe visits, I'll have to plan some weekends or longer away!

Kats parents came to visit on the Bank Holiday weekend for the day and came to see little old Rubery.  They enjoyed it quite a lot I think.  The day after that Kats friend Steven from Newcastle paid a flying visit as we hung out around Starbucks and McDonalds mainly.

And now its September and the year is marching on quicker than any other I can remember.
