February 2004

If I recall correctly, I started February off in Boston, coming come after a fun weekend. That doesn't seem so long ago, but when I think about it, plenty has gone on since then. Kat met my parents for the first time and she couldn't have found them too bad as she was visiting me again the next weekend. Last weekend I was in Birmingham staying with her for the first time.

All in all February was quite a good month, I find myself happier and smiling more than I have for a long time. It's a really nice thing to hear myself say.

There is just one thing that is getting me down a little and that's Rob. He has become very cold with me recently, or so it seems anyway. We're not talking to each other anymore, when we're in the same room, sometimes it doesn't feel like I am there. I've seen his new girlfriend twice now. I've never been introduced and feel very awkward with the idea of actually talking to her. It's a shame, Rob and I used to get on so well, he is my longest standing friend and yet even though he works mere metres away (via a staircase I grant you)

I've also come to the conclusion that I don't do large groups of people very well. Parties sound good in theory, but increasingly I've noticed how I don't enjoy it when there are more than three or four other people around. The Bacardi bottle Party that my parents proved this perfectly. There was Rob and his girlfriend who I felt uncomfortable around, there was his dad who was just plain obnoxious and the fact that I don't drink myself stupid any more. The older I get the less in common I have with my friends from the Romford area I'm sad to say.

I got a wedding invitation from Del and Jo. They've decided to hold their wedding in the middle of nowhere on a Thursday. I'm not sure if I am allowed to bring Kat or not. I'd like to go as I have never been to a wedding for and Del and Jo are my friends, but they certainly aren't making it easy for me! Time will tell, who knows where I will be and what I will be doing come September. That reminds me I must pay for the stag weekend at some point, just when I was beginning to think I had some spare cash!

Nothing else of note really happened during February, I spent most of my spare time with Kat and we just had fun. The rest of my time was spent going to work, occasionally playing badminton and playing the Simpsons 'Hit and run' game. The best Valentines Day present ever!

At the moment I'm having to sort out my passport with the American embassy (who are far from fast) sorting out share options (am I going to get any?) and sorting out a Post Office account, I just don't have any time for admin these days don't you know! That's why it becomes such an issue.

Friday the 13th saw me get my two post office account books returned in the post. Seems they had fallen out of the application form I sent to open a new account. Initially I was a bit upset that they had fallen out, but at least I got them back again I guess. I'll just have to try again I suppose.

So in conclusion a happy month with a few niggles that I refuse to let get me down.
