May 2005

I really must get round to making journal entries a bit faster, rather than half way through the next month.  Thankfully I have just about kept up to date with my Live Journal entries, which means I have some pointers as to what I got up to during the month!

May 2005 was quite a busy month for both Kat and I.  The first weekend we welcomed Chris and Sheri back to Birmingham and had a really fun weekend.  We went in the Birmingham big wheel which Chris generously paid for, been meaning to get myself up there at some point, but never had the spare money.  It is nowhere near as exciting as the London Eye but we enjoyed it none the less.  Later we headed up to the Hard Rock Cafe and had a great night there too.  The next day we did a Krankit radio show, technically a Sheri show but the four of us joined in and had a lot of fun.  After the show we went to see the movie version of Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy, which I enjoyed very much and then we went ten pin bowling, first time in ages for any of us.  We weren't very good but we enjoyed the three games we had.

Next weekend we headed over to Boston to see Kats parents and extended family.  We saw baby Ryan in his new home.  We spent far too much money on the 2p penny pusher machines.  We managed to walk away with plenty of coins and very grubby fingers.  We had a lot of fun.

There was a general election in there somewhere as well but it was a bit of a non-event for everyone and we started our first Krankit radio show and it went pretty well as I remember.  Unfortunately having done so many of them now I forget what each of them is like.

We also went to see Bryan Adams at the NEC.  I've wondered what the NEC is like for a while and the answer is, nowhere near as good as I expected it to be.  Bryan Adams was good, the warm up act not bad although I forget who they were and our luck with the transport was non-existent that day.

Managed to fit in a birthday party for someone Kat works with somewhere in Northfield.  Also managed to fit a weekend with the parents in somewhere in May.  Didn't do too much as we were really tired, had a lot of cleaning to do and really didn't feel like it.  Had some nice food and wine with Mum and Dad and made it to the pub quiz before I went to the dentist and came home again.

The weekend after that Sarah, Rob and Andy came to visit us on the final weekend of the month.  We played plenty of Extreme Uno on the Friday and then went to Cadbury World on the Saturday, which was fun.  We got lots of chocolate whilst we were there too!  On Saturday afternoon we went shopping and ended up at the Hard Rock Cafe and between us spent rather a lot of money.  Then on Sunday we went to the Brewers Fayre on the Great Park and had a nice dinner although desert took an age to arrive!  The guys also brought my CD collection up for which I am very grateful.  Then on Bank Holiday Monday the two of us did very little and I enjoyed every minute of it.

So that was May which seemed to go on forever was expensive and a lot of fun, never really a moment to catch our breath
