8th December 2003

A bit late for a November journal I know, I will punish myself suitably as soon as possible. The big news I guess is that I can finally reveal that I have a girlfriend. More on that for those that don't know in the future. I've forgotten who does and doesn't read this nowadays. Used to be so much easier when I was the only one who read what I wrote!

Today I watched the World Cup Winning English rugby team as they drove past the windows of the building where I work on open top buses. Was very party like in the office with clients invited to watch (and steal valuable window space). I need a new job as the one I have just now is slowly driving me mad, but its good for seeing the rugby parade and seeing the Oxford Street Christmas lights being turned on. It was Enrique Englasias (however you spell it) who switched them on. We could see the stage from the office, and hear the afternoon festivities and songs. Again fun, but I always thought that the turning on of lights would be more fun. Maybe I'm getting old!

I had Christmas dinner, with chicken not turkey unfortunately, with the Romford 'lot' over the weekend. The food was great. Helen and Sarah certainly know how to cook. I got to go on my first work excursion ever last week also, food and drink in a restaurant from lunch time, then on to a bar til way past 9pm and being paid for it. Til 5:30 at least. If only every Friday was like that!

What did I do in the rest of November? I'm not sure. Work, be ill, travel to Birmingham a few times. November was just a month to get through before I get to Denmark I think. Just thinking how different things were a year ago. I was told I was being made redundant 363 days ago. What a roller-coaster year it has been. I'm looking forward to 2004 being better than 2003 to be honest.

Oh, and I have a new little cousin, Georgia.  It was quite a complicated and dangerous birth but she's doing well as far as I can tell.  I'm scared to think that when she'll be my age I'll be well into my 50's!

See you next year.
