September 2004

The biggest problem with September this year is that it seems to have come and gone so quickly without making a lasting memory.

Sarah came to visit the first weekend of the month, that was tinged with sadness as within hours of waving Sarah back off to her nans house, her nan died. Sarah wasn't really herself and not even cocktails at the Hard Rock Cafe were able to change the mood.

Apart from going to work and coming back again I can't really remember that much that happened. I visited a launderette to do a service wash for the first time in my life, Kat and I went with a duvet which we cleaned for the arrival of our first overnight guests at the flat. The guests were Rob and Sarah who came last weekend without Andy Maher who felt a cold coming on as early as Tuesday so decided not to visit. We had fun and ended up again at the Hard Rock Cafe, but this happened in October...

L & G had a health and fitness week where they gave away healthy things every day, smoothies, breakfast bars, fruit, stress balls, things like that. Turns out my cholesterol and my blood pressure are a little high so I decided to have a bit of a health kick now. Been on it over a week now and I am sure that I have started to lose some weight, so maybe I'll stick with it a while yet.

Bought my biggest monitor yet, the 19 inch monitor has been set up with my repaired Mesh Az computer, just hunting for a network cable now.  We need a decent computer shop locally, I'm a bit irritated that Dixons is the only place round here that will sell you a network cable (and will rip you off when they do so).

53 days until our Florida holiday, a little over seven weeks, but I've started to make preparations, I have already bought my travel insurance. I think all the hurricanes have left that area of the world. The recent active hurricane season seems to have passed by without causing any significant damage to the theme parks or airports. All I have to worry about now is getting into the USA what with all these new fangled scans and what nots they have to do. Not close enough to be worry about the fine points of the trip, but the way the weeks are flying by at the moment that will come soon enough.

Off to the doctors tomorrow to check my blood pressure, wish me luck!
